Aug 19 Meeting notes
Hi all. We all enjoyed another great meeting!
Sherri led the Table Topics session with the theme: Pre-Season: Team Building. She had some good topics and now we all know she loves the Dallas Cowboys!
We had 2 prepared speakers, Mel did an advanced project, telling us about her High Performance Leadership project. Bo did his second project in the basic manual, a fine presentation about Randy Pausch. Bo knows his medical jargon!
We had one guest and we are hoping that he will return again...

Another great meeting!
We had 2 guests attend, and one joined before the end of the meeting!
Phil led a lively Table Topics session with some very thought provoking statements for the participants to work from. Each of our guests participated too!
As our scheduled speakers could not attend, Sherry did an ice-breaker so the guests would see a prepared speech and get an idea of the first project.
We had no new business, and adjourned early.
July 15, 2008 - word of the day
Capitulate - adverb - to surrender under agreed conditions.
Hilary Clinton finally capitulated the nomination to Barak Obama.

We had a great meeting!
We had a guest, who submitted her application at the end of the meeting!
We also had 3 toastmaster guests - our new Division Governor and our new Area Governor and her husband.
Phil did his next project in the Basic Communication and Leadership manual. He did a great speech on some of the ways we abuse the english language!
Officers elected for the 2008 - 2009 Columbia Toastmasters Year!
The 2008-2009 Officers for Columbia Toastmasters were elected at the meeting on 6/17.
Officers start their term on July 1 - congrats to all and thanks for stepping up to the leadership roles!

Another great Columbia Toastmasters meeting! We were in the "big" room - which was good because we enjoyed good member attendance...
Karen reminded everyone that it's time to vote for officers for the upcoming new TM year. If you are interested, please send contact Karen.
Maurice led us in a table topics session devoted to Mother's Day. He had prepared thought-provoking topics that were well-addressed by the participants.
